School so far has been alright. At least for the times I'm at school. The past two days have been slack and I've only needed to go to school in the afternoons. In the mornings, I'm home baking. =)Yesterday I made peach and pear muffins and today I made a banana cake. =) Hahahaha
When I'm actually in school, it is pretty boring except catching up with friends and getting to sit beside Hans in lectures! Yes, it is still a novelty!
I am deliberating whether or not to change my ENGL tutorial on thursday nights from 7-9pm to a more decent time. But if I apply to have it changed, I risk ruining my other nice slack days. I would die if my perfect mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays and fridays got ruined. Haha, actually, after writing it out, I think it is better for me to just brace myself on thursdays, then enjoy the rest of the week. Ok, ahhahaaa, my hardest days are thursdays. 9am-9pm. Be nice to me on days approaching thursday, on the day itself, and the one day after :D
It's a bit harder to make friends in HSFY when there are 1600 students milling around and 500+ students crammed into each lecture. Everyone just becomes a dot in the crowd and I'm so thankful I studied FY and made some friends first. It's nice to see some friends about and I can't wait to make new ones. But in a silly way, I guess making friends is the last of my priorities - after studies, family and a boyfriend.
The biggest difference here for me is that I'm fortunate enough to have my whole family here whereas others don't. So while friends become family for most here, family is still my family here. Sometimes I find it hard when I see all these people who have made friends in their halls and cliques while I don't have that sort of network because I live at home. Then I realise after that that I'm so sheltered here. I have family, a warm home to go home to, a fantastic mum who makes sure we have yummy food to eat. Sometimes its just a matter of waking up to the fact that I'm actually SO lucky and that I should stop moaning about the most trivial things.
