i decided i feel like blogging today so here i am :) things here have definitely been picking up, i used to be really down because chess and i couldn't find a 'group' that we could be part of because there were the chinese from china, the arabs, and also the kiwis, and no real place for us. butttt, things have definitely become better, and we have gotten to know a lot more people ever since we made effort to eat in the common room and make friends with people. when you're young and innocent and unknowing like in Primary1, it is easy to go up to new people and hold their hands and play, and instantly you are friends! but now its a lot harder, but we've been blessed with a an eclectic mix of wonderful friends, and i am happy.
we have some amazing japanese friends who are just so genuine and down-to-earth. theres tomu, yuichi, tomonori and tomono! they refuse to speak in japanese even amongst themselves as long as there is a non-japanese person at the table because it is not nice. and that just means the world to me because sometimes you do feel left out when people speak in an unfamiliar language! the arab muslims are lovely and so sweet, and there are also the malaysians who we meet along the hall and say hi to, and the taiwanese who are so nice to listen to when they speak in their melodious chinese lilt (nana!) but i think its just amazing how a few weeks ago i was moaning about feeling out of place, and then suddenly god blesses me with these amazing people. although its been a short time, and i don't know them inside out like i do with my besties at home, at least i have friends who are nice! i really look forward to getting to know them better.
friends are so important because without them, who is going to talk to you in the middle of the night when you are feeling down and lousy? i miss my friends in singapore like crazy, and i am so thankful to have made some friends here. don't think i am forgetting you guys, because i sure as anything am not! keep reading on, i am in a good mood, so i will have a few shoutouts :) :)
